Who we are
Ruiter en Schild is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@ruiterenschild.nl.
What we collect
Through the quote form on this website, we collect:
- Name and contact details (email address, optionally a phone number)
- Details about your property and situation that you enter yourself (property type, estimated camera count, network situation, free-text message)
This website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to see how visitors use the site (e.g. pages visited, session duration, device/browser type, approximate region) — but only if you explicitly consent via the cookie banner. Without your consent, no Analytics cookie is set and nothing is sent to Google. If you do consent, Google processes this data on our behalf; see Google's privacy policy for details. We don't use Analytics for advertising, remarketing or profiling. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page.
The only thing stored in your browser regardless of your choice is a light/dark theme preference (localStorage, not a cookie). This is purely functional: it holds no personal data, is never shared with third parties, and under Dutch/EU e-privacy rules no consent is required for it.
What we use it for
- To get in touch with you about your request
- To prepare a quote or consultation
- Once a job is agreed, to carry out the installation and any follow-up
We do not use your details for newsletters, marketing or profiling.
How long we keep it
Request details are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. If a job follows, we keep the related details for as long as needed to perform the agreement and to meet the Dutch statutory retention period for invoices, which is generally 7 years.
Sharing with third parties
We never sell or rent out your details. Data is only shared with parties necessary for the service (for example hosting or email providers), and only to the extent needed. We agree appropriate data-processing terms with these parties.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss or unlawful use.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have data deleted
- Object to the use of your data
- Have your data transferred to another party
Contact us at info@ruiterenschild.nl to exercise these rights. If we can't resolve it together, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Camera surveillance at installations
This policy covers data you share with us through this website. For camera surveillance running on your own property after installation, you are the data controller yourself. We advise on this, see also the FAQ on regulation on our pricing page.

We may update this policy, for example when our services or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
